While you browse
Google Analytics is optional. It stays off until you choose Allow analytics. We don’t run advertising pixels or use analytics for personalized ads. There are no accounts, newsletter forms, health questionnaires or checkout here. Fonts and illustrations load from the site’s own files.
The server receives your IP address, the page you requested and browser headers when a page loads. A hosting provider may keep request or security logs under its own settings and policies.
Analytics is your choice
Google Analytics helps us count visits and see which guides and listed products people click. We send the page name, limited referral information and details of a listed product when its buying link is clicked. Referral information can include a page on this site or the name of a recognized search or social site. It does not include an outside page’s full address.
We don’t send search text, selected filters, address query strings, page fragments (the part after #) or calculator entries to Google Analytics. We don’t send your name or email address, and we don’t use this information to make health recommendations.
Google receives browser and device information and processes your IP address when analytics connects to its servers. Its cookies help distinguish browsers and visits. Google’s privacy policy explains its processing and international data transfers. Advertising features are off in our site setup.

What your browser remembers
We save your analytics choice in this browser’s local storage for 180 days. Allowing analytics also lets Google set first-party analytics cookies with names starting ssga_ga. We set a 180-day lifetime for these cookies. Google may refresh some when you visit. Your browser may clear them sooner.
Cookie settings at the bottom of any page lets you change your choice. Turning analytics off stops future collection and clears the analytics cookies this site can access. The page reloads to unload Google’s code, which also clears any calculator entries. Turning it off does not delete data Google has already received.
Clearing this site’s browser data removes the saved choice, so we’ll ask again. Each browser has its own choice. If your browser won’t save a choice, we keep analytics off on that page and show a message.

Searches and filters appear in the address
The shortlist searches the product list in your browser. Your chosen ingredient, brand and search text appear in the page address. That lets Back, reload and shared links restore your choices. We don’t save them in a visitor database.
A shared link can include your search text. Loading or reloading it can send that address to the server, and your browser may keep it in history. Use product or ingredient names rather than private health details. Clear filters before sharing a link if you want to remove the search.
Prices you enter stay on the page
The calculator does the math in your browser using the prices you type. Those numbers are not sent to the site, added to the address or saved in browser storage. Reloading the page clears them. The calculator doesn’t look up live retailer prices.
Amazon and other websites
Amazon buying links include a code that identifies Supplement Shortlist for referral credit. We don’t add a tracking ID specific to you. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases.
Amazon, manufacturers and other linked sites have their own privacy and cookie policies. Amazon uses cookies and other identifiers on its services. We don’t embed Amazon advertising or tracking pixels on our pages.
The retailer handles your payment, shipping and account information. There is no checkout here. Buying links and links to our sources have separate labels.

When you email us
We receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use them to answer your question or check a correction. Please leave out medical records, payment details and anything else we don’t need to help.
The email providers listed below deliver and store support messages, including the forwarding we use to manage the inbox. We keep messages while we need them to handle your request and record what happened. You can ask us to delete them through the privacy contact. We may need to keep some records to meet a legal requirement or resolve a dispute.
Published corrections explain what changed on the page. We won’t include your name or email address without your permission.
